Freight broker complaint: find the right next step
A complaint should describe a specific event and its evidence. Being dissatisfied, being unpaid and being defrauded are different situations that need careful review.

Treating every dispute as fraud and losing time on the wrong remedy.
Name the issue before choosing a remedy
For late or missing payment, reconcile the invoice and terms. For changed rates or accessorials, compare the agreement with contemporaneous approvals. For impersonation, independently verify identity. For a disputed reputation report, preserve the exact report and response instructions.
Use an evidence index
Give each supporting item a simple label and explain what it shows. Keep a separate list of allegations, confirmed documents, disputed statements and unresolved questions.
- A: agreement and any approved amendments.
- B: pickup/delivery proof and load details.
- C: billing, remittance and payment records.
- D: relevant messages in date order.
- E: identity checks and the results you observed.
Allow for another explanation
A broker may dispute delivery, charges, a claim offset, invoice receipt or contracting identity. Record its explanation without automatically accepting or rejecting it. Complaint volume and silence alone do not establish wrongdoing.
Keep private material private
Prepare a redacted copy when a destination does not need personal identifiers, banking data or unrelated customers’ records. Share originals only through an appropriate authorized channel. We do not publish accused-company lists or historical allegations.
